NASA grants Lockheed Martin $20 Million Contract for Designs of QueSST

Technology is ever-evolving from Google Maps, Siri, Cortana, Google Car, the list goes on. Self-driving cars could come to fruition sooner than later.

Recently NASA granted $20 Million contract to Lockheed Martin to design a passenger jet, designed to fly faster than the speed of sound.

"The agency said it has awarded a $20 million, 17-month contract to Lockheed Martin to complete the preliminary design of the Quiet Supersonic Technology (QueSST) prototype. If that effort goes as intended, NASA will hold a competition to finish the design and build the single-seat, single-engine demonstration plane. Flight tests of the 90-foot-long, 20,000-pound prototype could begin as early as late 2019." http://www.examiner.com/article/nasa-to-pursue-quiet-supersonic-passenger-jet

Intended to make flying:
  • Safer
  • Greener
  • Quieter

Flight of Supersonic Passenger Jets ended more than a decade ago with the grounding of the Concorde.

News of NASA's recent contract with Lockheed Martin means travel could become faster than ever before!
